This is a step in the right direction for OpenAI. The promised “GPT store” is a minor disappointment so far. There are just not enough ways to browse new GPTs organically.
There are still GPT directories that fill a niche, but that will probably change when OpenAI finally kickstarts its monetization program.
Today’s News in AI
Kore.ai, a conversational AI and GenAI product developer, recently raised $150 million, increasing its total funding to about $223 million. Founded in 2014 by Raj Koneru, the startup focuses on no-code platforms for AI-driven business interactions. It stands out for its flexibility in deployment options and fine-tuned models for specific enterprise use cases, offering a competitive edge over rivals like Acree, Giga ML, Reka, Contextual AI, and Fixie. Kore.ai's platform is designed for various industries, with over 400 brands as customers and an annual recurring revenue exceeding $100 million. Despite a challenging market, Kore.ai's growth aligns with the broader GenAI startup trend, which saw a record $10 billion in funding in 2023, highlighting the sustainable expansion of GenAI technology in enterprises.
Rebellions Inc., a South Korean startup, secured $124 million in Series B funding led by KT Corp., reaching a valuation of over $650 million. The funding round included investors like Pavilion Capital, KT Cloud Co., Shinhan Venture Investment Co., Koreyla Capital, and DGDV. Rebellions, founded in 2020, is developing the "Rebel" AI chip and competes with global firms like Nvidia, Groq Inc., Tenstorrent Inc., and Korean rivals FuriosaAI and Sapeon Inc. The company plans to enhance hiring and chip development, leveraging Samsung Electronics Co.'s 4-nanometer technology. Korea aims to invest 826 billion won in AI chip design by 2030.
