OpenAI just posted a fresh blog post about the coming GPT Store.

The important takeaways are:

The GPT store becomes available for ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Enterprise users at, [link].

A revenue program will be introduced in Q1 that rewards the usage of GPTs. This should serve as a great incentive to ship GPTs fast and flood the market.

There have already been 3 million (!) GPTs made.

From OpenAI’s website:

“Building your own GPT is simple and doesn't require any coding skills.

If you’d like to share a GPT in the store, you’ll need to:

  1. Save your GPT for Everyone (Anyone with a link will not be shown in the store).

  2. Verify your Builder Profile (SettingsBuilder profileEnable your name or a verified website).”

Personal thoughts:

Creating a new GPT was way easier than I expected, I’m sure there will be millions more GPTs made in the following months. The store interface is still in its early stages. I expect it to get a lot better with maybe a preview text of the GPT and reviews. I predict companies are going to build a GPT with a simple use case similar to extensions on Chrome.

🚀 In Today’s News

OpenAI faces legal challenges, including a lawsuit from the New York Times for using articles without permission. The proposed licensing fees range from $1 million to $5 million annually, considered low by some publishers. These deals are crucial for OpenAI's access to high-quality training data for AI models like ChatGPT.

The results from the court are still looming over how the brand deals will look.
